Jeff Wenta

Alto Sax

Jeff Wenta SE 2.jpg

Born and raised by a musical family in Flint, Michigan, Jeff picked up the alto saxophone as a sixth grader and was helped along by local professionals while going to high school in Fort Wayne, Indiana. They taught him the value of listening to and learning from the masters of saxophone: Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, David Sanborn and many others.

Jeff moved to Southern California and studied music and audio engineering at USC in Los Angeles, being taught by local masters. While there he took master classes from Winton Marsalis, Chick Corea, Ernie Watts, John Clayton, Scott Page and Quincy Jones.

Jeff began his family in L.A. and transplanted to the Fort Wayne area, running sound for the Fort Wayne Civic Theatre, becoming a worship leader for the Fort Wayne Church of Christ, producing music to promote downtown Fort Wayne businesses, working in I.T. for Aunt Millie’s Bakeries and with his wife, Katie, raising two amazing daughters.
